Friendships

I have a hand full of friends and I get extremely excited when I get to spend time with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. I haven’t seen Taiwo in a little over two years (we somehow manage to talk everyday). It was really nice catching up with her and she inspired today’s poem.

By the way, she runs a food blog in Nigeria called Foodie In Lagos .

(PS- If you live in Lagos, Nigeria and you love food, I suggest you also follow @foodieinlagos on Instagram and Twitter).

Anyway, enjoy todays poem…

This one is for beautiful friendships

No, not the phony relationships

But the kind that makes your heart leap

Ignore the kind that makes you weep

This one is for friends that fill you with laughter

The kind you remember even after

Jolts your memory to trigger smiles

So bright it can be seen from miles

This one is for the friends always there

Doesn’t matter if you’re far or near

Even though the distance is in meters

They still prove to be keepers

This one is for the strong ones

The ones that make sure you stick to your guns

Always ready to encourage

Creating new moments for your minds storage

This one is for you

This one is for me

This one is for all of us

We’re all friends to somebody…
