She cried

on

Hi everyone,

I’m just here wondering what happened to the last five months… Are we really already in June???

I’m not even going to apologise to you guys (again) for me being absent, I feel like you’re getting tired of my apologies – but ’em, real life tends to get in the way sometimes.

Anyway, I’m here now and that’s what matter right????

By the way, I hope you all had a fantastic bank holiday! We all love a good long weekend.

I spent some time last week clearing up and I stumbled on a few poems I wrote between 2010 and 2012. It’s just made me realise I’ve really been through some weird and sad times, and writing was (and will always be) my outlet.

Over the coming months, I may or may not be sharing some of those poems with you. I guess I’ll decide how much I want to share as time goes by….

Today, she cried
She hadn’t cried alone in a long time
But today she cried
She craved what wasn’t there
But what wasn’t there was right there
Just far enough so she could stretch
But too far for her to touch
But it was there
Right there
She could feel its presence
She could hear its heart beat
Its warmth
Oh that warmth she misses
And the tears
They flowed
Flowed endlessly
Just like the village river
And the people
They fetched
Fetched from that river
Feeding off her sorrow
Her sorrow provided them joy
And slowly
Slowly she withered
As she watched
Watched her life
Drowning
Drowning
Drowning
In the spoils of war
