Longing

I’ve enjoyed exploring Japanese poetry so much in recent times. I’d like that thank all of you for your comments on my last poem Above the Ocean Breeze. I received an overwhelming number of messages both online and offline. I’d also like to thank Nortina again for working with me on that piece.

Still in the spirit of Japanese poetry, I’ve managed to make all five stanzas of today’s poem a tanka. I’m even considering starting a ‘Tanka series’ alongside my ‘Haiku series’ (read the first of my Haiku series here.

Anyway, enjoy today’s post….inspired by this Daily Prompt.

Longing for good days

One where the sun brings me warmth

And my days stress free

That my heart bursts out with love

So I can have inner peace

…..

What is inner peace

Is it when the winds are still?

Or when time has stopped?

Perhaps it’s when sea is calm

And worries just disappear

…..

That tranquility

That place only I exist

Buried in my thoughts

Planning , plotting and scheming

Dreaming of domination

…..

I want better days

Where your hope rubs off on mine

Together we stand

Making our problems smaller

Until the world is better

…..

One void of chaos

Yes, we can all be happy!

So forget your pain

Let the wind blow them away

Let the wind blow them away….
