Hello everyone… how are you all doing today??
Today’s poem was originally supposed to be a Ghazal (pronounced Guzzle); but then I started writing and I lost the whole poetic scheme, so I just kept on writing till I felt I had written something worthy of blogging lol.
My friend reckons I could still get away with mine being a Ghazal though. I’ll let you guys be the judge of that.
You can read a few of my favourite Ghazals here and here, and then you can read mine below
Dent not a woman’s heart
For she can love you a little less
Play her not like a game of chess
And keep her valuable like art
…
Handle her emotions delicately
Mere words can penetrate
Be affectionate
Express your words eloquently
…
Engage with her soul
It’s where her affection resides
In there her love for you abides
Sometimes you need not even cajole
…
So dent not her heart
For her love can be a little less
Let your love for her be in excess
And her love for you will be off the chart
