D(esire)

I spent a lot of time yesterday evening reading some of my old posts, and it reminded me of the time I really wanted to explore different types of poetry.

It was challenging and some days extremely annoying, but at least I made an effort to write something…anything even if inner me was screaming at how crappy it was!!

So… I guess in the spirit of channelling my inner writer and maybe possibly breaking this jinx of inconsistency, I’ll go back to exploring poetry types. Thankfully, I still have myย haiku seriesย andย tanka series to fall back on because #MicropoetryIsBae. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also still have 21 letters of the alphabet left to finish the A to Z writing challenge *crying writer’sย  block tears* but what’s that saying again??? Slow and steady wins the race??? *or insert any other appropriate quote as an excuse*

Without further ado, I’m just going to jump right into today’s post.

You think you know until you don’t
Suddenly
Your life is just a series of buts
And maybes
You fall
Get back up
And fall again…

Is it just enough to want something?
To be completely consumed
That it engulfs your entire being
To ignore the scale of balance
Between a want and a need
That you convince yourself the two are the same

What do you have???

You think you can until you can’t
Suddenly
Time seems slower
The sun isn’t as bright
All you want
Is to drown
In the hollow you created

How hard can it be to do something?
To put in your all
Work so hard until your soul bleeds
And you watch the fragments of yourself
Fall apart in bits and pieces
That nobody else appreciates

What have you done?

You think you will until you won’t
Suddenly
You’ve lost what you never even had
You start to ponder
On what could have been
Wishing on the emptiness

But, it doesn’t have to be that way

You can stand again
You can see clearly
You can pick back up the fragments of yourself
For what you seek is also seeking you

Those who restrain their desire
Do so
Because theirs is weak enough
To be restrained…

#MicropoetryIsBae LOL! I’m totally stealing this hashtag!

By the way, as someone who frequently disappears from blogging, I forgive you. ๐Ÿ™‚ Writer’s block is no joke!

Well, #MicroPoetryIsBae ๐Ÿ˜‰ So at the very least we should motivate each other to write 3 lines of poetry every day! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Fantastic blog you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics discussed here?

I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get responses from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest.
If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

    Many thanks!
